Review:
Oliver Reyes is a slightly nerdy kickboxer who is part of an elite team in San Francisco.  Oliver is also more than slightly gay and has a crush on the team’s captain, Derek Vance.  Oliver is not very obvious about his crush, certain that it’s unlikely Derek would reciprocate.  When the team travels to Las Vegas for a competition, Oliver goes out to scope out entertainment options for a future trip with his friends, and what he finds is more than he expected.

I really liked this story.  It’s sweet and fluffy with a dash of racy heat thrown in–something I think is expected from a Nico Jaye story.  The pacing is a bit inconsistent, with a lot of slow build and then very quick resolution that almost leaves some things feeling unresolved.  Though that just increases my desire to read and know more about these characters…if they might possibly resurface somewhere in the future.

Another sweet and wonderful read from Nico Jaye. The idea of meeting and forming relationships online is such a reality for so many people, and I enjoyed seeing a story that really puts that idea front-and-center. Taking that first chance, allowing yourself to connect with someone through a screen, and finally meeting in person for the first time: it’s all here and it’s authentic. This is a bit of a fluff story, so those who shy away from that may not enjoy it as much as I did, but I’d still encourage giving it a chance.

Review:
Two college football rivals become professional football rivals and the intensity of that rival seems only to increase right along with the level of play. But what if there’s something underneath the tension that means something more?

I thoroughly enjoyed this. The dynamic between Brad and Cam is wonderful and the transitions in their relationship are portrayed masterfully. I’m left looking to pick up more by Nico Jaye in the future and immerse myself in the worlds she creates.
